A new year – time to restart

Janv 23. Dear me or you or us, I’ve been doing a lot and a lot of thinking recently. It’s been 2 years now that life put me on pause. On pause and it was so hard to think clearly. The motivation left. When life gives you lemons, sometimes even the easiest lemonade is impossible to make. So I’ve been on pause trying my best to keep going with all those lemons around and time has passed as it is. On pause. Last summer I started playing with watercolor and I enjoyed painting things. This winter I painted some wooden figures for Xmas and I enjoyed it so much. I…

    The mosaic bedside table

This one I do not remember how did it look like when I took into my studio, but here is the transformation: the top is covered with these gorgeous broken white/light recycled tiles. The main colour of this cutie is the beautiful Lauren colour from Colours. I like hidden designs and I decided to add this colorful palm tree sheet of paper on the inside. It has of course layers of varnish for extra protection. Also the drawer has a new colorful knob (from my collection of knobs). Height: 53 cm Width: 36.5 cm Length: 48 cm Remember that this its second life and so it is not brand new.…

    The bedside cabinet

This cutie was originally destined to be thrown away. When I found it, I immediately had a vision of its new style. I love nature, I love wood colour, I love making something unique… Here is its new look: The top has been sanded and wood stained. The whole table is painted with the beautiful Aquamarine colour from Little Green. The two drawers (and inside drawers) are covered with this colourful tropical leaves wallpaper. The inside paper has few layers of varnish for extra protection. Each drawer has a new colorful knob (probably found in a charity shop). Height: 63.5 cm Width: 44 cm Length: 38.5 cm Drawers: 27.5 cm…

    The other distressed cabinet

New life for this wooden cabinet. I thinks this one had many lives before it arrived at my studio. The ex owner told me that it travelled from France like 10ish years ago… and guess what, I love that! A furniture with stories to tell! So when I got it it was all painted in white. Here is a picture of how it was after I started sanding the top. This unit has one wooden shelf on the inside and two large drawers. Dimensions: Length: 87 cm Width: 49 cm Height: 91.5 cm I had a great blue colour from Farrow & Ball at the studio and most of all…

    The blue patterned sideboard

This sideboard was left behind after a moving. All green. Beautiful shape. But green. Green, green, green! I do not like this kind of green, and it was so badly painted. Sooooo I sanded it. I wanted to re-discover the color of wood. It was a long way to finally make all this green paint disappeared. I liked this blue paint that I had found a while ago. Also in a shop I found this beautiful patterned blue and white wallpaper. It was time to use it! I also did not know what to do about the knobs. Keeping them or not keeping them, that was the question. As I…

    The mosaic coffee table

From a second hand table to a unique stylish coffee or side table.  This table was a rescue. I do not remember from where exactly (donation? Market?). It was like this: a tripod table, made in MDF, painted with some stencil paintings. It took me a while to finish it as I am never too sure about what colour or what material to use… As usual I start, I change, I stop, I change again … I guess it depends of my mood, my desires or even the weather… I created the design on its top using broken tiles. It reminds me of the first table I have upcycled years…

    The dressing table

This cutie came from a friend. She could not keep it anymore. The table was all white. Cute though! I decided to give it some changes: I painted it in blue, then in light green, then I distressed it, and I waxed it. I found new knobs for the two drawers and the mirror (to hang up jewellery, necklaces, etc…) and I found some fabric that I thought would be perfect with! I really like these little birds! Et voilà! This is a unique piece of furniture. **No longer available. This cutie has found a new home**
